Hey ya'll... Just a quick one to update my email address. I got a RoadRunner cable modem, and I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner! Anyway, my new email is matsaleh@austin.rr.com. My work email has stayed the same, and it's mwalker@origin.ea.com. I have been working my ass off for about five months now, close to 14-16 hour days for weeks on end. My family and personal and social lives were put on hold. That can't continue, as I've been out of touch with some really important folks - e.g. my wife, Deb, my parents, and my friends. Gabe - sorry to have blown you off. Overcome by events, I was. Things are settling down some now. I'm in a new position at Origin, as a technical lead for our game's Live team, the team that will be managing and maintaining and improving our online game going forward after launch. Our current launch date is July sometime - can't wait. Game development is so damn cool - don't think I'll ever try to get a real job again! We have not yet built our house, though we have had our lot since April. More delays because of my work, and general procrastination. I love deadlines - especially the lovely whooshing sound as they go whizzing by (apologies to Dilbert, I think). Take care.

We have moved from Green Bay to the windy city of Chicago, actually about 45 minutes west in the suburbs, for a promotion as Project Manager with the company I work for. My new job takes me around the U.S., so will take the oppurtunity to see anyone I can when I come through. Saw Erin Goettl in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago, she looks great. My son will be two in January and our second child is due end of January as well. Should keep my life interesting. To answer Susan Shank's question, I have been through a lot since 84, but am very happy with my life and who I am now as hard as it seemed t get to this point I wouldn't change it. In addition to passing on my new e-mail address, I thought I should actually take the time to write something . . . I'm living in Victoria on Vancouver Island in Canada, which is the most beautiful city I have ever lived in. I became a landed immigrant our years ago -- didn't plan to when I came for an extended visit to work with Mija's mom on her small organic farm six years ago -- funny how sometimes one's life seems to have a life of its own. So here I am, although my family and friends in the State keep pestering me to return or at least to live a bit closer. I probably will be moving back in the near future, to somewhere in the Pacific Northwest as this region (regardless of which side of the border you're on), really appeals to me, most likely t return to school for a change in careers. It's weird to try to sum up one's life to those I haven't had contact with for a while (some longer than others). I find myself reflecting on what I really want to impart about myself, what's important to share . . . when I read other classmates' updates about new jobs, weddings, children etc. (which are all very important things), what I'm really wondering are things like -- are they happy? have they changed? what challenges (personal/professional etc.) have t ey had to face that have made them who they are now? Do they have any regrets? What are their true passions in life? We were such kids when we knew each other and yet that time was such a pro-found and memorable time in my life. I can't help but wonder -- who are we all now? I miss the community we had at ISKL. I miss the comraderie on the scale that it existed for me then. I have some amazing friends in my life, but they are scattered across numerous states and a couple of countries. Okay, okay, I' getting too philisophical or sentimental or something ... some basic info about me: I'm not challenged enough on a professional level and really needto get my butt back in school to remedy that; I adore the city I live in, it feeds my soul -- where else ould one see a bald eagle nesting with its eaglettes (sp?) in a local city park and then go to the opera not five blocks away???; I adore my nieces and nephews and go back and forth about the whole motherhood thang; I'm frustrated I've yet to find the per on to 'settle down with'; I'm doing better about living in the moment and getting away from my anal-retentive, perfectionistic, goal-oriented tendencies; I'm happy enough of the time, but want to be happier more of the time; I've rambled on long enough an need to go to bed ... one last thing for those of you who might care -- my dad recently retired and also recently had a serious bout with prostate cancer. He's doing mostly okay now. He and I are actually on really good terms now ... we had a long stre ch where we didn't even talk to each other. I'm so grateful that that time has come and gone.

I’ve been watching this site off and on for . . . seems like three years now without ever sayng anything. My brother Paul (class of ’84) calls it “lurking,” or something like that. Anyway, thought I should say something since my e-mail address has a “bo nced” tag on it now. After ISKL, I eventually graduated from Texas A&M (after a two year lay-over in the U.S. Army) and then from the University of Houston Law Center. I’m practicing in Waco, Texas now. I came out to Waco to work for the Court of Appea s that sits here, did a tour with a firm that specialized in mass tort/products liability litigation, handling all kinds of fun stuff like breast implant, asbestos, Norplant, automobile crashworthiness cases, basically the kind of stuff that makes my GOP riends crazy. Lots of fun, but I got tired of the management aspects of it (its not really legal work when you are dealing with 2800 clients in a suit) and let myself be talked into going back to the Court of Appeals through the next election. After tha , who knows. I married a Houston girl back in ’94. No kids – yet. Hey guys ! I attended ISKL 1980 - 1981. Moved to Arizona in 1984 attended ASU for a while, but did'nt know what I wanted to be when I grew up so decided to see what "real life" was like. boy was that an eye opener. Anyway, i finally settled into a job at hospital in Casa Grande, Arizona. It's a town of about 26,000 between Phoenix and Tucson. I have been at the same facility now for 14 years. I currently was promoted to Assistant Director of the department. I over see 12 employees not including 5 contrac workers. It's a great way to be involved with patient care without having to do any of the gross stuff. If any of you have seen the movie "Three Kings" which was recently released. Well, that was filmed here and around our little town. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of George Clooney fever going around for awhile as he was staying at our Holiday Inn They were going to film a scene in ur hospital but decided that it was too modern for the place and time of the movie. Still it made for some exciting weeks here. I've been meaning to try and find this site for sometime. Glad I finally did. Hope to be ab e to keep in touch with you more often. It's been so long.

Hello! 5 February 2000 Recently I did a search for information on ISKL, found Alumni information, and more importantly, found Cigdem Tuncbilek's email address. Sent off an email to her this morning, received her response this evening, along with your web address! So here I am, signing in, and looking forward to reconnecting with some old friends. I attended ISKL 8th through part of 11th grades (78-80). I loved living in KL; have many fond memories of people I knew, the school & faculty at ISKL; and of course, beatiful Malaysia. When I left Malaysia in the fall of 80, it was to move to Lima, Peru, here I graduated from Colegio FD Roosevelt. Upon graduation, I went to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, where I graduated with a BA; double majors: Spanish & Political Science, minor: Geography. Planned to work for the US State Department and work in different US Embassys around the world. Surprise! Instead I met my husband Mark, fell in love, got married, had a son Alexander "Alex", and settled down in Grand Rapids, MI (Mark's home town). I worked for many years in International Business (Customer Service & Import/Export). Gradually, found it to be "less than fulfilling" so I've since moved on to other things. I'm currently working as Executive Assistant in a local Non-Profit organization, and am pleased that my work efforts are helping to make a difference in my community. I love to brag about my son Alex, he's a bright, inquisitive, caring, and wonderful 5th grader, attending "Stepping Stones Montessori" school.I feel very blessed having him in my life. I think I have had my information on the bulletin board before, but we have moved again and I thought I'd update. Kurt,my husband is a Cpt. in the US army and we have moved from FT. Hood, TX to Ft. Hello fellow ISKLiens! - We're back in Australia - after 2 years abroad, living in Cheshire in the UK. Why?.....Paul (my husband) got a contract with IBM UK - good money, so off we went - Had a fantastic time...and now WE'RE BACK! Went to Angelica and Georgs' Wedding in Beautiful Melk, on the Danube - in Austria last August! Spent a wonderful 10 Days with them in their gorgeous village in the Vienna Woods! Thanks Angie! Also Eileen, and now husband Danny, and son Ian called in on us at Easter - hadn't seen eily since I left KL in '81 so that was great! Stacey came by just before Christmas for a couple of days - and we agreed that we hadn't changed much......really..!!!! Paul was working in Budapest in February this year, so we managed to catch up with Angelica and Georg again - had a great weekend with them in this lovely city - hey lets go to Becketts - Satu Lagi Besar!!! Took the boys - Michael now 5, and Stephen 2 to Disneyworld and the Bahamas on the way home!- Super!!! Wanted to update my last post re: looking for a job :)) I now work with The Second City - the comedy theatre in Chicago, except I am with the Pittsburgh office looking after business development for the business theatre division. Hi Y'all (only with y'all would I say "hi y'all") So great to see these names and pictures and updates! Hi to everyone from 1981-84. I look forward to hearing and seeing more about your lives. And never fear, I am certainly going to dig out the old picture albums and see what's there... and you KNOW w at's there.... (evil chuckle). Late 1970s fashions are only the tip of that iceberg. Before I go on, I have to ask WHY AM I NOT LISTED AS GOING TO ISKL?!?!?!?!? I was all emotional as I surfed through this site, teary-eyed as I sifted through the memor es (still melodramatic as you can see)and then I noticed I am not listed! Please help to right this wrong! As some of you know, it took me years to get over the trauma of leaving ISKL right before my senior year (1984)! However, I noticed on this list t at quite a few of us had to leave ISKL and graduate from strange American (or other) high schools. I have seen Betsy Gearin and Mija Lee lately, in San Francisco, saw Raj Desai in Boston a few years back, and Pernille in London even more years back. Been in touch with some others of you, but not enough! Keep posting updates. Oh yeah -- my life, well for now I'll just say that I am struggling and straggling through the last stages of my dissertation, on Cambodian communities in Masschusetts,and find that daily life is stressful, caffeinated, cramped, computer-oriented enough that I think I should wait to share life details until there are some that are not quite so nasty. I guess I will be the first to update for the year 1999. I graduated from ISKL in 1984 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1989. I spent 89 through 97 living in Dallas, wandering from job to job until I landed at ACNielsen doing computer work in June o 96. I am now a Senior Support Specialist for ACNielsen and living in Green Bay Wisconsin. I have been married for a year now (see pictures on the 1984 class page) and on January 8th we had our first child Nathaniel Paul James. My Parents still live in Ma aysia and I have made the jouney back several times, though the last time was 5 years ago. I have managed to keep up with only one other ISKL graduate (Kevin Gossett) but have recently tracked down some others (Mike Savas, Chris Broccoli, Scott Wilson, an Stacey Foong to name a few). Congrats! The page looks great and it's a blast taking a look back...Just a quick update...Still haven't settled in one place, although DC should be it for a little while. Still single and havin' a blast here on Capitol Hill...Finally started working fo myself after realizing that working for someone else just wasn't me, so I started up a maid service in the suburbs of DC. Our second office has been open a year now and things are doing pretty well. Other than the maid service, lots of other jobs, none really worth mentioning except a brief two year stint with Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus and Clyde Beatty Cole Bros. Circus, and a year with the Historic American Buildings Survey (National Park Service), doing architectural photography and docume tation for the Library of Congress. Hello everyone, especially those who know me. I hadn't seen this page till this morning. It's great. Good Job...I went to ISKL from 79'-82', then went back to the states. Attended TSTI in Waco Tx., studied Computer Aided Drafting And Design. Worked for Ro kwell Int. in Dallas as an Application Engineer for a few years then signed on as a consultant with Pacific Intelledata in Oakland Cal., who later sent me to Bangalore India early 87'. Left Bangalore in late 87' for Singapore where I started CAD-Solutions I met and married a Singapore girl (Chinese, not from the airlines) and we have two children, Catarina (6.5) and Stefan (4.5), both great kids. I’ll get some digitals to Kahlil later. They are both learning to speak Mandarin, a little Spanish and some Mal y. We get back to the States once a year or whenever I can get away. We were planning to get home around May and will try to attend the reunion. I’ve sent Mr. G. Magill a message. If he gets it, maybe I’ll see him in Jakarta later this week, (I travel to Jakarta almost weekly). I run into Jim Baker here every once in a while. He’s taken time off from SAS to writing a book.
